Job Description: Recruitment Consultant
Recruitment consultants are responsible for attracting candidates and matching them to temporary or permanent positions with client companies. They work with nursing and care homes and other healthcare establishments, building relationships in order to gain a better understanding of their recruitment needs and requirements.
Recruitment consultants attract candidates by drafting role specific adverts for use in a wide range of media, as well as by networking, and referrals. Consultants will rigorously screen candidates, interview them, conduct background checks and ensure they are fully compliant with relevant healthcare regulations, (NMC/CQC/UKHCA/REC), before activating and placing to work.
Typical work activities
Recruitment consultants provide a vital link between clients and candidates. The role is demanding, diverse and involves but is not limited to:
• using sales, business development, marketing techniques and networking in order to attract new business and new clients whilst developing existing.
• visiting clients where required to build and develop relationships;
• developing a good understanding of clients, what they do, the healthcare industry, their work culture and environment;
• acting as first point of contact for clients, accurately recording their expectations for the position, the salary and benefits offered, and the responsibilities of the role;
• advertising vacancies by drafting and placing adverts in a wide range of media, for example newspapers, websites, magazines, etc;
• Working with the organisation to utilise/job boards/social media etc to advertise positions, attract candidates and build relationships with candidates and employers;
• headhunting - identifying and approaching suitable candidates who may already be in work;
• using candidate databases to fulfil more vacancies or shifts;
• receiving and reviewing applications, managing interviews, relevant tests and creating a bank of staff for your workforce reservoir;
• requesting references, monitoring training and checking the suitability of applicants, before taking their application any further;
• briefing the candidate about the responsibilities, pay rates and benefits of the job in question;
• negotiating all the Terms and Conditions between candidates and clients prior to the start of their employment in agreement with HQ guidelines.
• working towards and exceeding targets that may relate to the number of candidates placed, a value to be billed to clients or business leads generated;
• reviewing recruitment policies to ensure effectiveness of selection techniques and recruitment programmes;
• professionally welcoming staff and visitors to the office;
• manage and communicate business diary effectively
• Adhere to office systems/processes and quality standards as directed; take part in the business on-call on a rostered basis and in line with the requirements of the business.
• assist other members of the Kare Plus team and carry out general administration duties as requested;
