Do you want to play a part in the local community, helping others? We are looking for a dynamic Shop Manager to work 37.5 hours per week. This post will initially be a fixed term contract for 12 months, with the possibility of it turning into permanent for the right candidate. Strood Community Project is an exciting charity established by three Kent churches to support local people facing hardship and to see the community transformed through a range of projects and activities. Now in its tenth year we are seeking a new Shop Manager to lead the retail arm into the next decade. You will be responsible for driving the sales and increasing the profits which are gift aided to the Charity. You will have the day to day control of the shop, and will be innovative in finding ways to increase the foot fall through the sales floor, maximising the sale of donated and bought in goods. You will manage a staff team made up from paid staff, apprentices and volunteers. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who has experience in running a shop and managing or supervising staff; and is confident in decision making and delegating tasks effectively.
