Aspiring SENCO- Mathematics focus
Are you an Outstanding Teacher with an interest in special needs?
Valley Park is an outstanding Kent High School. In April 2013 Ofsted commented that our work was 'exemplary'. The school was rated outstanding in all areas. It is the school of choice in the Maidstone area and is the most over-subscribed school in Kent. Student attitudes, behaviour and academic standards are outstanding.
The school is in the top 10 of all schools nationally for value added, a position it has maintained over the previous four years. We have a rapidly growing 6th form and are expanding the main school.
We have an innovative 'Foundation Learning Department' with the primary goal of enabling all the children to achieve their potential. We have been working closely with local primary schools and recognise that our key focus needs to be the excellent teaching of Mathematics and English to help all children to achieve a good grade in English and mathematics at KS4 and access learning across the curriculum.
As such we are seeking an outstanding Maths practitioner to join our innovative and skilled Foundation Learning Department. You will be responsible for teaching mathematics to low attaining and vulnerable students and work with the team to provide focused support to other children on the SEN register.
You will need to have a passion for teaching vulnerable students, or students with SEN and an ability to plan and prepare differentiated lessons in your specialist subject area.
At Valley Park School, we are committed to supporting the professional development of our staff and as such would fully fund the successful applicant to complete the National Award for SEN Coordination so that they can pursue a successful career in SEN and can join our team of qualified SENCO's currently working in the school.
