Commercial Operations Assistant Underwriter- 12 Month Fixed Term Contr
About the Role
Joining our Commercial Operations Underwriting team, in our Brentwood office, you'll be responsible for processing and debiting renewals, mid-term adjustments and cancellations, providing a first class service to our selected brokers along the way.
In the role, you'll have a nice mix of responsibilities, including phone based activity, working closely with our Brokers and assisting them with enquiries, as well as a non-phone based allocated personal work load during which, you'll always comply with all internal regulatory and statutory standards and controls, so that the requirements of the group and the regulatory bodies are met.
This role is a 12 month fixed term contract, maternity cover. The start date for this role is September 2017.

Ideally, we'd like you to have previously worked in an underwriting environment and we'd be thrilled if you could also offer experience of having worked with Commercial motor fleet insurance products. But at the very least, you'll be someone who has robust customer service skills together with a good eye for detail.
It's important for you to be able to manage your time, workload and be flexible in changing your routines.
You'll need to:
•Efficiently and accurately handle all commercial cases within Personal Underwriting Authority, ensuring all business is handled within underwriting strategy, agreed service standards and all the standard procedures and compliance requirements are met.
•Provide an efficient, high quality policy administration and renewal service and actively support brokers responding flexibly to customer needs.
•Support the development of excellent broker relationships in order to maximise LV='s Commercial Motor account. Provide assistance in line with the current referral process and guidelines.
•Complete daily workload in line with agreed service levels and proactively support the team to achieve the daily targets.
•Respond flexibly to Insurance Broker and /or customer needs and take responsibility for the resolution of their enquiries or concerns in accordance with agreed guidelines and procedures.
•Ensure all relevant technical enquiries are referred to the correct level of underwriting authority.
•Play a pro-active part in identifying self-development needs in order to achieve personal and business goals and address these through personal performance plans.
